Last year I was driving during this time period. It was very mild. It's been tough for most of us no doubt. I feel for the South especially this year, record setting storms and cold temps.
I spent all day Wednesday in a podunk airport in Louisiana because they either didn't HAVE any de-icer, or they didn't know how to use it. The ground wasn't even icy, and it was only 31 degrees, but they could not get the plane we were supposed to use de-iced.

I love my Louisiana home folks, but ...

Well, YA KNOW.

Oh, and I grieve for the 'vettes. Any word on if they are coming back out of the hole?

I believe GM said they would be able to get them out and that they are going to restore them.

TT, they weren't doing anything, and they weren't communicating. American Airlines strung us along, pushing the flight time back half an hour to an hour for ten and a half hours.

I promise without exaggeration I could have gotten the ice off myself with a garden hose. I'm a pilot, I have a degree in aviation, and I know ice is a big deal, but it just wasn't that bad.

I honestly believe the airlines use weather as a way to cut costs. If they can consolidate flights and blame the weather, it costs them less to operate.

It was also obvious watching the procedure that no one there knew what they were doing. It was out of the ordinary for them.

I don't fly with ice on my wings, but this particular situation was mishandled.

I didn't go to the auto show in Chicago, but a buddy brought me back some Chevy swag.

Two unopened packs of "trading cards" of Chevy products and a Chevy pin.

I would be happy to drop them in the mail if anyone in The House would like them.

It's all good.

Back in college it was an open debate whether IFR stood for Instrument Flight Rules or I Fly Roads.

Doin' just fine, OldScool. The snow is deep and the ski season will probably run until mid-April.

I've been taking care of my Mom for the past few months. Had her up here since before Thanksgiving, and she is doing OK. We celebrated her 80th birthday and now she is back home in LA.

I keep finding things to do without earning a paycheck, so I'm still not driving anything of the four wheeled variety worthy of grin.

Other than that, just having a good time & kinda coasting.

...what a finish to the Daytona 500 race today. I was out of town thinking I missed it, only to come home and find there was a 6 and a half hour rain delay with 41 laps left. Austin Dillon was the primary example of mid pack 3 wide aero issues with these cars. Thet get sucked up the banking when they are either off the rear corner of another ride or too close proximity of another in a large pack. Not a driver issue, just plain physics. It was uncanny to watch the slo-mo. They get swept up like leaf's in the wind. It happened several times with big wrecks towards the end. Not bonehead driver mistakes....just the forces at play on the cars. Amazing. Jr was dominant.... and Jeff and Jimmy helped him keep the front...quite a show....Hamlin and Keselowski made it exciting at the final shootout. Best part was Mr. Hendrick riding inside Jr's car during the victory celebration...I never saw a Team Owner do that before. What a happy day for them. It was like watching kids celebrating together. A special moment. Congrats to Jr, and Mr. Hendrick. It was one for the ages.
