A buddy of mine used to do that for removing bugs and tar. It seemed to work okay, but he always rinsed it well and then applied wax.

meguiars tech 2.0 wax ( and whatever else was in the name as I gave the bottle away ) that sh*t sucked. easy on and off was the only plus. the shine wasn't great and the durability...well - it didn't really have any.

I used to use Meguiar's all the time, now I use a combination of Adams and CG. The quality and durability made me make the switch after seeing the products used first hand. Some things Adams makes is better than the alternative to GC and vice-versa (in my opinion). I've never used Griot's, and stay away from TW and Armor All. Just because a company has been around for year's doesn't necessarily mean its the best out there.

I wonder how many people who have posted disliking CG have used their Blacklight Radiant Hybrid Finish w/ V7? These are the only CG products I've used, and IMO it's outstanding. Unless you don't like a high gloss finish.

Yes I remember using an old towel to compound a 1972 Pontiac Lemans my best friend owned, we also went over it with another rag with Megs #7, topped it with #20. 2 days later he sold it, (got 2000 more than he paid for it) I was upset that we spent all that time only for him to sell it, He showed up a week later in a 1967 Camaro w/327 4 in floor. Yes, I would have sold the Lemans too! LOL.

I would think it would come out similar to hotdogs being compared to filet mignon.
No ones knows until the test is done and the comparison may have never been done because some of the high prices products could get embarrased... Ane we might even find out that some of the big names use Turtle Wax just poured into new fancy bottles and packaging.

It's good stuff I have tried and liked it. After you polish you won't need a "glaze" like backlight and it's not much of a sealant. V7 is a great detail spray and does layer well over blacklight or any other sealant but again not much of a sealant rather a good quick detailer in my opinion.

Blacklight/V7 is awesome, no doubt.

when I was in my 20's I used turtle wax a bit but the crap is soo hard to remove. I love #26 megs, I try other stuff out but usually go back to 26 when I want a no hassle product that does a good job!

Same here. I practically needed a belt sander to buff it off. When I finally switched to a quality brand of wax I thought there was either something wrong with it, or I didn't put enough on - it came off too easily!

Griot's Garage is such a rip off. Their spray wax is okay, but I gave away all the other crap I bought from them because it's worthless - it doesn't work! Love Adam's products and they were even nice enough to give me a free bottle of detailer spray at the Chicago Corvette and Muscle Car show! Thanks!
