Blue Angels C6 Corvette correction

It was pretty cool to work on this particular corvette. The owner decided to pay tribute to the Blue Angels and the armed forces with this car. The car has been in numerous magazines and countless shows. The owner is extremely active in welcoming troops home, giving them rides, presenting awards to vets, etc. Despite the hours of careful taping around the custom decals, it was a very satisfying car to work on.

Upon arrival

The car had to have some paint work done, and when new decals were cut ON THE CAR....well you can see the aftermath....

DEEP razor blade cuts

Taping off this F-18 Hornet was both tedious and fun at the same time

Swirls, RIDS, buffer trails....

Initial compounding on fender produced good results

More defects

Bodyshop sanding marks over the body edge.....very sloppy work

After correcting

More appalling body shop work....

Clarity improvement from initial compounding

Continuing down the door and loads more issues to sort out courtesy of the sloppy body shop

Making improvements....

Looking better

All finished and looking glossy again

Thanks for checking it out, and thank you to those who have and are serving our country!
