Malfunction Indicator light on? Is it serious? I only have 62,000 miles in my Camaro

I just got a JiffyLube oil change last week and it drives great, but I l just noticed last night that the Malfunction Indicator light is on? Is it serious? I thought it was a Engine Warning light, but it's actually the MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LIGHT. I only have 62,000 miles in my Camaro and it runs great . I tighten the gas lid until it clicks, and the light still goes on. Is this a serious issue?
I did get a curb alert device installed in front bumper and it went on couple years ago, and the mechanic who installed that device was able to shut that Malfunction Indicator light. It's just last night it turned on? Can some one give me advice if this is serious engine issue? Let me know if anyone has experienced this issue Thanks!!

Get it scanned. It's free at auto parts stores. That'll at least tell you what direction to take. Right now it's "something's wrong" and that's not helpful at all.

^^^^ This, you need to have it scanned to see what the code/codes show so you know where to start from to see what's happening. If it was your gas cap, you would get a message on your screen that says "tighten gas cap"... Good luck..

Thanks for the suggestions shibbs and 1JEWldssrs. I went to O'reillys automotive store and they did a free scan. They mentioned that it was the emissions that was a problem. I explained to them that I always put Lucas Upper cylinder treatment Fuel injector cleaner after every fuel up at Shell using the V-Power gas. Secondly, after every oil change, I used a 12 oz of Prolong 3,000 mile Fuel system cleaner. They mentioned that it could the problem to that Emission light going on, and I should just completely stop those extra fuel additives. How bad is that for the engine? I’ll stop putting those additives for sure and stick with the V-power gas from Shell Gas stations for now on. Any safe advice about this? Let me know , thanks!
