To Spacer or Not to Spacer!???

Been thinking about using a spacer on my rear wheels. I've heard and read a lot of opinions about why or why it's not safe to use spacers. I know that if I do decide to use them, I want hubcentric spacers. What do you guys think about spacers? And which ones do you recommend? Eibach makes some and I know Eibach is pretty reputable. Thanks for the feedback.

I've been running 20 mm hub centric spacers on my car for over a year. No issues at all. I use loctite and torqued them to 130 ft lbs. I've had the wheels off to do the brakes 6 months ago. I check them with the torque wrench and everything was still good. I have put about 10000 miles on them. I got mine off Amazon too. Nice aluminum peices.

I've been running 1.5" hubcentrics on the rear of my square body 4wd Suburban to widen the rear track width to match the front for a while now with no problems.

I can't imagine a Camaro would or could generate more shearing force than the a 6000 pound 4wd Sub does.

I have a friend with a liberty walk widebody hellcat that’s running like 2 inch spacers, maybe more. They’re hubcentric and he hasn’t had any issues. I know he doesn’t baby that car so that certainly makes me feel more confident in them. If you’re gonna get some just make sure they’re the highest quality you can get

As long as they are hubcentric, you should be good to go. It will add stress to the wheel bearings over time but not much.

What are the spacers for? You can have your wheels made with a custom offset?

I just want to bring my rear wheels flush with the fender like they are in the front! Just need about 10 to 15mm!

been running H&R 30mm hub centric on all 4 corners for 3+ yrs incl. 100+ 1/4 mi runs...still perfect.

First determine how many mm of clearance you'll need then, then subtract that from the stud length to make sure you have at least 21mm of stud left to fully tighten lug 6/7 turns ( our std length is 28mm, our stud size is 14mm x 1.50, industry std calc for required lug tightning length for 14mm x1.5 = 21mm. I was able to get around 9 turns of the lug with a 3mm spacer I used, 100% of the torque is achieved at the 6 turn, the extra turns don't add anymore tighting/torquing)

If you don't have a least 21mm of stud length with a spacer you'll either have to add longer studs or go with an adaptor instead of spacers

THIS is where you want to get your spacers from ...custom cut from billet aluminum.

For me I like the look of the factory wheels but wanted them flush with the fender and I only spent 80 bux for the spacers.

I run 1" adapters (spacers) on my 2015 Camaro with stock wheels and I have 1.5" spacers on my Jeep. Perfectly safe and reliable. Buy quality spacers and Loctite the nuts on the spacers.

Not at all sure I'd trust Locktite against the temperatures reached during a track session. Heat is how you're supposed to 'break' the red stuff.
