Piston Rings are probably seated now. It takes a while with synthetic for them to seat. |

That's a nice catch can. Is there a thread or website where I can purchase/install one?

That and driving habits both effect the amount caught. We have a local car that is now down to catching almost none between changes as the rings seated from hard driving.....and now its driven pretty easy. With any of the smaller cans letting it get that full you will have alot of oil pulling through. Empty it more often for sure. If let to get that full oil will pull right out the outlet. |

One of the quickest ways to fill up a catch can is when a car is run 'hard' with no warmup. The oil pressure is much higher than at a steady state temp and you can achieve large amounts of blow by in a short period of time.

Another reason why the only way to test a cans effectiveness is to look for oil "pull-through". It is not the amount caught, it's the amount that gets through into the intake aircharge. Simply go to your local autoparts store and pick up a clear glass inline fuel filter a ($8-$12) and install it between any can and the intake manifold. You will see in no time how well a can does, or does not work. The idea is to catch ALL or nearly all the oil and prevent any from ingesting into the intake air charge.

Wow! That's quite a bit!
Catch cans are essential for LS motors. Extremely overlooked mod. |

mine catches the same, about 6 oz. every 1000 miles. And the dip stick level is never low.

They didn't mine because they said the ls motors are allowed to burn a qt of oil every 2000 miles are so! You may be getting more than that!

Catch can catches, I'm happy, car runs great, intake is clean and no oil smoke.
