The LFX tune / Mace cams install thread

The Cams arrived yesterday and will post install date asap......will post cam pics here in a few.. will also post the dynojet/HP results also.. I'm initially a little surprised on the numbers and the way the throttle feels (vitesse was unplugged for tune and not connected yet) and hoping will be fine when back in tomorrow....I'm interested in any input the tuners have on this subject as well. Taking pics standby....

Pre I assume, he stated he has an appointment to get the cams installed I believe this tune included his 3.91 gears what other bolt ons do you have DGM? And yours is a 1LS or 2LS?

See how your tuner goes, but very likely will be able to pull a few strings with SVS who did the tune with those cams in Australia for tuning support.

Best Regards,
Steve

So give us the details on your dyno run. Was it a Mustang dyno? Honestly, I have to say I was expecting considerably higher results than what you got....something on the order of 290rwhp or more.

But we all know how dynos are...in that they all read differently. Just my opinion here, but it looks to me like this is low reading dyno. Your first "Pre tune" run only netted 222rwtq (HP didn't finish out on that run I'm assuming) and that is easily 15 to 20 tq lower than the norm. Actually more than that, considering your extensive mods.

I don't think anyone that reads this should be thinking that full bolt ons and tune only results in 270+ rwhp, as it was stated in another thread a different LFX with intake and tune only resulted in 290ish rwhp.

I also wonder if your gears didn't lower the result a bit, as I've read lower gears can alter the result as well.

The big take away from all this is how much more will the cams add on top of this number. Hopefully around 20 to 30 more rwhp.

Thanks for posting this up, although I feel on a different dyno you might've put down much higher numbers.

Yeah I dynod my car when all I had was corsa exhaust and a rotofab intake and it made 260whp and 240wtq on a dynojet and it was 105 degrees that day. Maybe this was a mustang dyno. But I agree that seems a little low but as long as the gains were there I guess that's all that matters.

Dynojet? My car is a manual and he stated that n 3.91 gears will affect numbers a little.... i did plug the viresse back in and damn~ again what a difference... definitely can feel improvement with tune... I think there was a little left on the table and wonder with the difference that vitesse makes in response if that amounts to anything.... might be able to get one more shot in before cam install..
