wait for the ZL1. The Z28 does not have insulation so it's louder inside. it has a to harsh ride for the street. You will scrape the front end. The Z28 is a race car that you can drive to the track. Like you said in your 1st post You do not like the 5th gen. Dont buy one. You said the 17 ZL1 is perfect. Wait and get the ZL1. The ZL1 is a race car that you can drive all day everyday. The 5th Gen Z28 is 505hp 481ftlbs the 5th gen Zl1 is 580hp 556ftlbs So the ZL1 is king

Full 1LE suspension, with BMR adjustable sway bars and links, GM aluminum cradle bushings, Hurst shifter with lighter reverse spring, TWM shifter knob, Tick level 1 transmission. I should have bought a ZL1

No spare tire on any 5th gen V8s. Plenty of Z28s with air and stereo.

I will try and break it down for you, but understand this isn't exact; it is just simple terms.
1ss - base model V8. Usually single color interiors, smaller radios, basic interior upgrades. As with anything you can always add options.
2ss - Little more plush, sometimes have different seats, sometimes different color interiors, stitching in the seats and leather, seat warmers, sunroof, body panel trims
1Le - is basically a 2SS/ZL1 without the supercharged motor. Has many of the same parts as the ZL1, just the regular SS motor

You can always at options to Z28. the ZL1 also appeals to me because it can do anything. It can be turned into a straight line monster, or plenty of guys Road race it.

Given your desires and likes/dislikes, sounds like you made a wise choice ... as hard as it is to wait for something you really want, it will be worth it in the long run.

Thanks for the support. I'm gonna wait it out and be ready to hand over the cash when the time comes.

IMO, another good choice, to pay cash. Fortunately due to interest on some good investments, a good retirement plan & a couple 'windfalls', I've been in a position to pay cash for our last few new cars ('06 Corvette, '13 Camaro & '14 Traverse). Don't know your situation or stage in life, but, again IMO, there's nothing better then being able to own new vehicles & 'toys' while remaining debt free ... especially at the point of life I'm at.
