Good seat solution for dog?
Those of you that let your dog ride in your camaro, do you have a seat cover, towel, etc.. that works well for you? Or do you just let your dog sit on the seat?

Fold down the back seat and lay a towel or blanket or something down

There are seat covers that link to the back of the seat and back of the front seat. They keep the seat clean and keep the pet from falling between the seats. Look online at petsmart.

Mine rides on the seat bare (leather). He is very well trained and behaived though. In my work semi he loves to ride on my gym bag on top the pass seat lol. The plastic is not on there because of him, I just never took it off. He gets a bath 2 x a week and sheds very little, yes he goes everywhere I go.

I've not yet found a good solution -- because of the shedding. My dog is very, very well behaved and causes zero issues....but his hair gets everywhere. Until recently, he was a Jeep dog and I didn't have to worry much. Now, I try to keep everything spotless. I feel compelled to vac out the car after each ride. It's tough.
I do put down a large batik sheet over the seat and tie it around the headrest. It catches a lot of hair.

I have a special dog seat that fastens to the seat belt like a baby seat and has two clips that attach to a harness that came with the seat. These seats come in all sizes and even have one for two dogs. But the larger ones may not fit in the back. Mine just barely fits behind my seat. My dog is a yorkie. Look up "Fido Rido" on youtube.

I have a thin blanket over the back seat. Poodles don't shed, so win for me.

I usually just put down a blanket covering the back seats for him to lay on, he does pretty good on short trips. He's a 70lb Lab

I have a large rug in the backseat and hooked 4 small bungee cords from the bottom of the seat to the middle so it doesn't fold up or move around.
I also put a small box with a towel over it in the floor so he can step up on that instead of the door panel. Otherwise, he might scratch a panel jumping. |

I have large "dog blankets" that I put down for my yellow lab. They are just big and thick blankets that are big enough to tuck in the seats and cover the backseat area. I wash the blanket after every ride. (and vacuum the car out.) I also have a beach towel that I drape over the sill and rocker just so there isn't any accidental nail scratches.
It is inconvenient as hell if you are OCD about your cars (like I am), but it is worth it because he loves to go everywhere with us. Small price to pay in my opinion. BTW, this is Harley enjoying the ride.

We put the back seat down and Shellie our yellow lab rides in the back. A large blanket is put over the back of the rear seat, and towels over the back of the console. It all works well, but with the cloth interior, there is yellow fur that it takes multiple vacuumings to get out, and it still is there. She is worth it, so it is not a big deal.

Turbo's car seat came from PetSmart also but I painted it myself. The big dogs don't get to ride in the Camaro.
