Z06X or Z06 ZTK coming?

Just saw these pictures of a Z06 with the ZR1 aero. Any clue what this is?

Not a customer car. It has manufacturer plates.

No idea what it might be, but it looks like it has a rollbar...

We see roll bars on performance cars all the time during validation testing, especially ones with supercharged V8s as this one likely has.

That is true, but they normally don't share the same shade of orange paint as some of the bodywork.

MGF plates. Chevy engineers are driving this around. But you disproved it.

I see that as well. Just seems odd to me that if it is a prototype they painted the roll bar to match the other orange trim

To me, the stranger thing is the orange aero bits on the outside -not the roll cage inside. It makes sense to paint the cage to match the wing and side skirts ... what doesn't make sense is why those things would be orange in the first place.

The hood vents, calipers, and nostrils have orange accents as well... looks like it's part of the paint scheme...

I hadn't noticed, but your right.

Still ... you normally don't do co-ordinated accents on testing prototype. Put a red hood on a blue car because you've got one handy? Sure. But doing all the 'extra bits' in the same eye searing orange is very unusual.

I kinda hope that its the result of one engineer just having some fun with a rattle can some afternoon ... but when ever I suggest that something is because of 'engineers screwing with people', it doesn't seem to pan out

I could see that, if it didn't have the wing.

The Z06 and front/rear Corvette emblems are missing too.
