Quick update.
She is still in the shop. The top has been installed, and the recalls/updates ave been completed. However, the tinters were gone by the time everything else was done. The back window ill be tinted Friday morning, then I should get her back. I was told the top is the updated part and that GM has discontinued the original part.

my first 4 tops were a shambles. when they replace the top, they get the water bag out of sorts, and then wet carpet every wash or rain. two years of trying to get my car fixed. hope you have better luck.

I picked her up at 530 today. This top looks tighter on the frame, but could just be that it is new. It rained all day today, and I did not see any puddles on the floor, but I will be going over her with a fine tooth comb tomorrow.

A small amount of water can soak the carpet padding, but not make a visible puddle. |

I just had mine replaced this week. I got it back yesterday, it is quoted as a 6 hour job but it took them 5 days to get it back to me. The dealer did this themselves which they clearly didn't know how to do. They leak tested it into day 3 and found it was draining into the car. They had some specialist come in to fix that. They did put the recall kit in but I did not ask for any part numbers. A simple cover in the trunk was not put back together properly (lazily looked over) and there is a rattle of a piece of metal in the side of my car that is either something that was dropped down there or something that is loose. They also put a big scratch in the "A" pillar, filled it with touch up paint and were not going to tell me about it. As if I wouldn't notice. Going back Monday to see how they are going to remedy all of this. Had to leave when I picked it up before I really lost it.

If you are not satisfied at the time you go to pick your car up, leave it there until it is 100% to your satisfaction. If you take it home, the dealerships will try and say the problems were caused by you. This way, they cannot do that and as a bonus, time at the dealership counts toward the lemon law.

Decided to take a quick drive around the block with the top down. The new top has several tethers that were not present on the old top and when down, it does not flap like the old top at speeds under 50 mph (in a city, fast as I could get). However, once I had the top down, and I could see in the car, I noticed some trash in the passenger seat (looked like top clippings). When I moved it, I found...
Needless to say, I will be calling back on Monday.

Look very carefully in the seat creases or junction with the body panels for more metal shavings.

More issues....
Anyone know what this is? I want to think it was something that was cut off to remove the old top, and when cut, it wedged itself in my spoiler, since I know this was not there when the car was dropped off, and it was too tightly wedged to "fall" on the car since it was returned to me. But...I have never seen on of these before. Chip in paint after it was removed. Close up shot. Of course, I will be asking the dealer about this on Monday as well.

I've got 3 or 4 of those little metal pieces myself. Found them after having the top replaced recently - they were on the backseats

In that case, I am assuming that they are pop rivets that are used in the top attachment process, and when they cut this one, it was shot at the spoiler and embedded itself there.
I love taking a car in for 1 problem and getting a whole slew of new ones after.
