Question thinking about trading v6 camaro for BRZ

i am really considering trading my v6 camaro for the BRZ. i enjoyed the camaro a lot. but i love the clean look of the BRZ and it has some cool mods available for it. plus the weight/size reduction would be a nice addition too. also a little bit better gas mileage and handling. so there is a lot going for it. but it really all depends on what kind of deal i can get on my car and if i can get a good price out of them for the BRZ.

Quite the downgrade, IMO.

Do whatever makes you happy.

If you went the FRS route:

Pros: better handling than a V6 Camaro, lighter, more mpg (only if you went with the FRS automatic, the manual doesn't increase your current MPG at all compared to the Camaro), less expensive to maintain (cheaper tires, cheaper oil changes, etc)

Cons: Looks (if you asked an average American which car they'd rather have due to aesthetics only, I'm sure the Camaro would be chosen over the FRS 75-80% of the time), less interior room, less 'road presence', less people talking to you at the gas station (this could be a good thing), LESS HORSEPOWER, same tires as a Toyota prius, less manly in general.

My 2¢.

A legitimate street car to a ricer? You need to lay off the pipe.

I think the FRS is a good looking car. If for some reason I went v6 that would probably be my choice.

i looked up some modded out versions of the fr-s and they can look pretty badass and perform well. its all in the eye of the beholder. and mostly i just want a smaller lighter car. but still it may not happen just thinking.

I don't think you'll find any FRS love on this forum.

You can get a new wrx for almost the same price as as br-z/fr-s. Wrx is better in every aspect (awd, 268hp, 0-60 4.8/1-4 mile in 13.7. Although you plan on modding the frs is not a good drive train to start from, especially with a 27k price tag

well i could get the subaru brz instead which most people seem to like better then the scion but they are basically the same thing just different badge.
and i have had both mustangs and camaro and i dont discriminate just because of the brand or where the car comes from. im not a fanboy when it comes to cars. i like them all.
people on the scion/subaru forums were a lot nicer about this tho surprisingly haha. i got no flack from them either way i was shocked lol.

From what I have read they are supposed to be very good and pretty fast. There is one big reason I would never own one. The first time I saw the new Camaro I knew I wanted one, they just have a special feeling about them and when I look at a FRS I feel nothing...... In other words they just don't do anything to make me want one.
Do what makes you happy, even if its not popular or the logical thing to do.

Looks pretty fun, but this guy already has a mod list and it's still slower than the Camaro V6 stock.

I think they're nice looking cars, but I couldn't purchase something slower than what I already have.
