The IROC-Z was a pretty cool car. In fact, besides a few Pontiac variants including the TTA and WS6, it's probably one of the more desirable models from that time period, especially if you can find a 350/5-speed combo, or a '90 Iroc 'vert in good condition Good examples are rising in value, not a fortune, but enough to set it apart as a desirable vehicle versus any old 30 year old piece of automotive memorabilia.

I agree. Not like the pic in this thread but I think a modern rendition of the IROC-Z would be awesome.

From the factory, you could get 305 with 5 spd or auto, but 350 was auto only... |

I couldn't tell you all the different RPO codes used for the various iterations of 305's they put in those cars, though. |

i can attest to that. Owned 2 of them
people make like they were cheezy or something, but the stripes were basically the same as the late 70s Z28 on the door. they were fairly light and in grey/silver so i thought they were tasteful enough. Never understood how big stripes down the hood are somehow more conservative. |

I owned a 1988 IROC-Z with 350/auto. Was a fun car, but not fun to change fuel pumps on and was a turd with its low horsepower 350. The Iroc had its place in history and that's where it should remain, in my opinion...

My 88 IROC had a supercharged 383. No slouch. And T-tops that would never quit leaking.. Love/hate relationship with that car.
