Blown motors, and build dates.

Hey guys, I just figured it may be useful to have a list such as this so that we can get this issue narrowed down a bit. If you have blown a motor, can you put your..

1. Year
2. Build date (on the door plate)
3. VIN (optional obviously, ONLY LAST 5 if so)
4. mileage when it went the way of the Do-do bird
5. any mods you may have had at that time
6. How did you drive it? (i.e. like it was stolen, or babied)

It'll be nice to narrow this down to a certain build time, and hopefully it'll give people some peace-of-mind, or possibly make some want to cry.

Screen name:--------VIN:------Year:---Build Date:-------Mileage:--------Driven:--------Mods:
xpanda305x----------*****----2010----11-2009-----------38900-----------Daily driver----intake/exhaust
SIXJAK---------------*****- ---2010----01-2010----------26580-----------Daily driver----LTs,CAI,TB,exhaust,Trifecta, catchcan
Blade-----------------*****----2010----01-2010-----------27700-----------Hard------------LT's, intake, exhaust, catchcan
DarkneSS------------93012----2010----02-2010------------9,000------------Hard-----------Stock
2 2-------------------52905----2010----10-2009------------33,000----------Daily driver---exhaust
Kid-------------------*****----2011----09-2010------------15,560----------Spirited

----------------Problem:
2 2-------------bearing

I'll update it as stuff is added.

Good thread. Where do I find the build date? Door plate? Forgive me I'm away from my car and just happen to be surfing this sight. I'll post build date later or just edit this. I'm not exactly comfortable post my entire VIN. What relevant numbers of the VIN can I post (last 6-7?)
2010 (ordered the 1st week of Nov. 09 The car car was delivered on Feb 5 2010 and I picked it up on the 6th which was a Saturday. I've had a perma grin ever since.)

26,580 miles
Mods: SW LT's, CAI Inc., SOLO Mach X, VMAX TB, trifecta, RX catchcan
Build date 1/10
I don't baby it but I always am very OCD about waiting for my car to warm up fully before I ever get on it. Save for the 1st 1500 miles, it's had nothing but Mobil 1 in it.
I check my oil almost every single fill up now. I did notice my oil level drop about 2 notches in 1500 miles with my new motor. Did the whole remove oil cap thing while checking dipstick too. I love to floor my car when I feel it's safe and no other cars are around. I rarely ever redline this new motor and I don't foresee that changing either. I have to admit I'm a little gun shy now. I'll try and get the build dates of my bros cars who's motors popped. Their cars were a lot newer though and completely stock.

I got mine in March of 2010... I'm scared now.

Only 14k miles on it so far though. CAI Intake, CB V8 Cat-back, and Barton Short Throw.

I think you will find it is a very small percentage of motors that have expired.

1) I think its the door plate.
2) I edited the first post to include which numbers, but last five should suffice.
3) Awesome, that's my birthday.

Agreed, but it will be nice to know a general range of build dates, so those in danger can keep an eye on their oil levels.

No problem, the build dates are the important part.
