Exclamation Monster Camaro Z/28 Reveals Itself on the Nurburgring! (Updated With First Video)

Updated with first video of Z/28 under testing!

So, after hearing seeing and hearing the car live, what do you think the engine is? The great debate here has been whether the new Z/28 will be naturally aspirated or supercharged. Do you hear what sounds like the LT4 engine (compare with sounds of LT4 in Corvette Z06), or do you hear a naturally breathing Z/28?

For the most part, the engine sounds NA, but at 0:34 seconds into the video, there is what appears to be a slight whine which could indicate a supercharger.

You be the judge and tell us what you think?

The 6th gen Camaro Z/28 has been spotted testing on the Nurburgring and while it still wears camouflage, most of the bodywork and styling can be seen through the camo.

The prototype takes elements of the ZL1, but turns it up to 11. The front fascia differs from the ZL1 and wears large aerodynamic canards for maximum downforce. At the rear, the Z/28 wears the massive rear wing, which looks like what we were seeing on earlier Z28 prototypes testing on GM's proving grounds. The additional elements that are visible on this latest Camaro prototype look extremely track focused, which is of course the Z28’s focus.

Viper ACR? Meet ZL1.

9 months later.....

Z/28

HOLY DAMN!!!!

Ridiculous Aero? Check
Huge Air dam for cooling? Check
ZL1-style exterior? Check
Lightweight front and rear lamps? Check
Smaller, lighter wheels? (Certainly looks like it)

EDIT: Other things noticed...they're back at the 'Ring. Perhaps we'll get some times for all the cars?

WOW!! The Z/28 is going more the direction of the Viper ACR with those front fascia aero canards! This is looking like a serious track machine!!

I can't believe this thread hasn't blown up with responses yet with everyone asking about updates every day!!

I wonder what the purpose of the orange colored fender hash marks are since he rest of the car is camo'd.

On the ZL1 testers, it denoted a manual transmission.

The rear tires look bigger than 305s.

And either the brakes are bigger or smaller wheels?

Cool! I guess we'll have to look for Z/28's without the Orange fender stripes then to see if the Z/28 goes the way of the ZO6 by adding an auto option.

You know we could all be assuming this is a Z/28 when it could be a higher level performance varient of the ZL1. Especially considering it appears to have the same ZL1 hood! Kind of like the Viper Track Pack and Viper ACR or the GT350 and GT350R. Just a thought. Either way this new car looks like it's all business!
