Black stripe package = flat or gloss black?

I am wondering if the black stripe package that costs 470 is flat black or gloss black stripes? these are rally stripes that cover the hood and deck lid and half of spolier correct? also how do you wax you car if you have these stripes? does the wax turn the stripes white? thank you

I have the hood and hockeys. They are flat. I use zaino on mine and now they are more of a semi gloss. I have seen people that WAXed them and it made them look like crap. Zaino is a POLISH and it looks awesome on the stripes. They look painted on.

Wax is no problem on them... I've been amazed at how the stripes clean up very nice. I've put 2 coats of Zaino on mine and they look great. I once had some serious water spots on them and they cleaned right up too....

No worries... and they are flat which is a nice contrast to the metallic colors.

Zaino is NOT wax. It is polish. I am not to sound like a jerk but there is a difference.

OP... yes the rallys are flat. Just do yourself and your car a favor, use Zaino. Its awesome. I have about 5 coats on my car. Make sure you clay bar it first. Even from the factory this is crap all over the car. Click to enlarge the photo. Wheels and everything are Zainoed

This may help any questions you have, it helped me to decide on what stripes I wanted.
The CGM stripes are quite dark, and are glossy
The black stripes are all flat

There are many products out there that people swear by but most (not all) prefer Zaino.

www.zainostore.com

read about it.

So is it OK or not to put Wax on the stripes?... I'm guessing it doesn't hurt anything, but I've only used Zaino and read some of Mooses posts on the subject which say Zaino is OK too.

Not sure if they are doing this anymore, but for me they wanted to charge for installation as well. My total cost would have been $780. When I heard they were vinyl and matte, I cancelled them from my order and had custom painted stripes, including side gills put on with clear coating for $1350. Well worth it and no regrets.

I love my matte stripes! On my CGM they are subtle but sexy.

They were 100% ripping you off. The cost to install is included.

I would assume so. Lots and lots of cars out there have vinyl stripes that I am sure people wax. But to give you a for sure yes or no??? I called and talked to Sal Zaino about the stripes, he said to use zaino on them just as I do the rest of the car and that they would make them more glossy, they did.
