Maintenance of Ground Effects package
I'm going to order a 2LT next week with the Ground Effects package. I know the standard package is painted a dark argent color.
My question for other owners of the same package (not painted again by a 3rd party). Have you used the same wax as your body wax or more of a cleaner used on black vinyl or rubber molding? I have bought some Zaino products and wasn't sure if this Ground Effects was considered a porous material once painted at the factory. |

The GFX is unpainted plastic like the grille or rear valance below the bumper. Good wax (like your Zaino) will work lust fine, or don't wax it at all.

Wash wax repeat. Good choice on going with the unpainted GFX.

I like it unpainted. My preference would be a painted stripe at the factory followed by them clear coated it. I do not like the decals and worry about have stripes painted afterwards.
The Camaro is definitely about making it your own. I like a contrast in the color, so not having stripes leaves me with the ground effects. This is going to be an awesome daily driver with low maintence: 2LT - Red Jewel Ground Effects Sun Roof 6M Performance Exhaust and Air intake Same size wheels (able to rotate) with all season tires, I'll be in this car 90% of the time. Excellent replacement from my '80 Z-28 of 30 years ago: Black with red stripes, red interior 4sp Cowl Induction Upgraded interior and wheels |
