Placed Our Order Yesterday!!

Husband has wanted one ever since the first press release. The guy we normally buy our cars from had us interested in a Challenger SRT8. It's more money and it's not what he originally had his heart set on. Only owned one other sportscar and that was a 1982 Camaro...had it painted, but it needed mechanical work. It was fun to drive. We sold it within a year.

Husband called and told me to order it Saturday. That was so much fun! Yesterday our dealer put our order in, and GM accepted it 2 hours later and now we are anxiously waiting. 2SS/RS, ABM w/White Rally Stripes, Black Interior, and sunroof. We opted not to get the exhaust system, but I think he is going to add that. We had a hard time deciding between Black w/inferno orange stripes and the inferno orange interior. But the kids loved the ABM and we did too.

This is such a great site. Husband is not really a forums guy, but he comes here to read alot. And since he told me about it, I've been reading a lot too. Thanks for the wealth of information.

I ordered mine 2 days ago too!!! So we both will be anxiously waiting..... lol every night is like Christmas Eve, I just cant fall asleep! hahah

Thanks. I'm having a great time reading up on everything.

Our dealer had 4 allocations on last Thursday (30th) and he said something about two of them being stock, so they said they could just change one of them to what we wanted.

The guy we have been dealing is excited...we are his first camaro customers. He's been great about answering all our questions and calling us with updates.

I made the mistake of placing my order at a dealer with a lot of backordereed units, so lord only knows when I go 2000. My sales guy says he doesn't know how many they have allocated nor exactly how many they have backordered. But he says about 150 cars.

Another dealership that we had talked to awhile back called today wanting to know if they could help us. My husband is a Wal-Mart manager and so they have a Supplier Discount Program with GM. That dealership wouldn't even check to see what it was...said they didn't have that kind of discount. They were supposed to call us when they first received the Camaro brochures. They didn't. When we stopped in, they were out. They asked today if we had test driven a Camaro anywhere and I said no, which was the truth. So then she asked what our timeframe was....I said we ordered yesterday. No time for uncooperative people.

I have yet to see a Camaro in our small town...we are beyond excited.

Congrats, and I hope you do get it quickly as well. Being that you are in a small town it will have even more pop when you get it.

My husband was born in Hawaii...dad was stationed there. We live in Iowa...and yes we have winters, and yes it will be in the garage during the winter.

Man, everytime I stop by my dealership and ask if they have one in and if I may sit in it they say "It's sold, sorry". Which I understand perfectly, but geez... I'd like to sit in one to check it out. Oh and asked "how is a person supposed to make a firm decision on whether they want it or not if they can't even sit inside?". His response was, "Well we've sold over 20 without people sitting in one so..." Then he shruged his shoulders.

I commened his witty comment and I commend everyone who has purchased one, but unfortunately sitting in it for visibility is a major factor for me.
