Mid-pipe resonators

So I would like to do a mid-pipe on my car but I want to keep (aftermarket) resonators. I figured I could get a shop to fab some aftermarket resonators to the speed engineering mid pipe. Thinking that I will also need the AFM delete plug so that I don't get a check engine light. What am I missing?

The goal here is to not have a raspy sounding exhaust.

That's really difficult with these cars. They tend to be raspy, period. I think with the right resonator setup you can reduce a significant amount of rasp but, I don't think you can completely eliminate it without corking up your exhaust flow.

Boral has one but they are 2 and 3/4 if that is an issue.

Unless you snagged one already there is no AFM delete plug anymore. EFI Tunings official message is to tune out the AFM valves instead. I believe with HP Tuners.

Borla makes resonators but it's 2.75 inches in diameter. It won't play nicely with the Speed Engineering mid-pipe which is 3 inches. You could also drop in your own resonator such as Vibrants and call it a day. Location will just be the question.
