Aftermarket exhaust ????

I went by a local exhaust place I really wanted to get Chery Bomb Vortex mufflers but this shop said I didn't want to cut off the Stainless Steel and weld up aftermarket exhaust. They said I needed to go with a kit that was quality and recommended Magnaflow.

What are you guys thoughts on not getting a kit and just putting on mufflers. I can always try and go to a place that does flowmaster but again these are not kits are not as nice as bolt ons. Thoughts on non bolt on kits?

bolt on kits look cleaner and are designed to sound right by engineers. muffler shops will just weld on a pipe with your muffler that looks redneck and sound dumpy, but cheaper. if you want quality you gotta pay for it.

You don't need a kit... but you do need a better muffler... I looked up the Cherry Bomb and I see it's aluminized steel... You are much better off with a stainless steel muffler... then you just need to make sure the shop uses stainless steel tubing and you should be all set...

Not always true at all.... find a good quality shop that takes pride in there work and they can fab about some thing just as good as any kit out there...

The nice thing about something like an axle back kit is the average joe can put them on in his own driveway... just cut off the old and bolt on the new... no welding, no bending... simple...
