Comparison - battery/underdrive pulley

Quick question - $200-$300 left for mods. I'm looking at the Powerbond UDP or the Braille B2015 lightweight racing battery.

Looks like the UDP gives 5+hp/6+Tq to the rear wheels
The Braille battery would save almost 30lbs in weight

I currently have CAI/Hi-Flow Cats/Flowmaster Outlaws/Custom Tune/Drag Radials

I dont trust those little batteries, maybe for a race car but on a everday car I just dont seeing it hold up. Not real sure.

I hear ya. It wouldn't be for a daily driver. Just an occasional driver and going to the strip over the summer some. I would keep the stock battery though for resale and then resale the Braille Battery to the Harley guys.

A lot of people tried the lightweight batteries on daily’s and found it to be a pain.. great for track days only honestly. I’d go with the UDP if I had to choose.

UDP a lot of fluff.....I use the Fluidampr because it has real damage limiting qualities, the deal is if its cheap its a POS like the stock pulley.. not a dampener does not stop harmful vibrations.... and I use a UDP only for the alternator...since my idle is 950 its no drain, and frankly they make like Zero for HP those claims...are just that claims . Use stock type batteries, there are better things to spend money on. Since you have no long tubes, you should save for them not just high flows unless your smog requires..... your not cammed which has it requirements for maintenance over time. You could with that money say buy some trailing arms from BMR that would be the best use of that money, maybe a ported TB over time. Good luck.

Although not a direct replacement, when I swap out the battery in my Camaro I am goint to put in an Optima redtop 35 which is 31.7 lbs. You save 15 lbs over the factory battery and it will last. Compromise.

I have used my Shoria lithium battery since april with zero issues daily driving. In my opinion using a light weigh battery in a 5th gen is the last mod as the weight is where you want it for ballast. As far as under drive pulley I would stick to ATI 10%. I use a 25% for clearance issues as i have an EWP with no idler pulley and use no belt tensioners.

Agreed, you're not cammed, so I wouldn't worry about throwing a damper on until its necessary and has a true function, for two reasons, the damper will help protect your engine when you're cammed, and when you are doing your cam, you'll have the stock pulley off anyway. HP gain is negligible (more hp is more hp, I got it) but for the small gain that it is, why not look into some trailing arms and outer TA bushings from BMR.

Thanks guys. I'm most likely gonna go with the BMR Trailing Arms with Poly Bushings. Sometimes it's really easy to get wrapped up in engine mods and forget about putting that power to the ground.

Nice price. I've never installed them before, but it looks like a straightforward install

Its not horrible with the puller. They push right out. Then get yourself a good alignment.
