back order on carbon weave hood for ZL1

Just received a call from my salesperson where i ordered my ZL1, the carbon weave hood is not available as of yet...she states that they will hold order back until hood is available?.. not sure what to do?.. want the car sooner than later..maybe just opt for the smooth hood?

Yeah you need to change to the regular insert if you want it sooner rather than later.

I just talked to my dealership and apparently the rescent orders are the only ones that are loosing the insert. My dealership basically told me that they ran out of them.

My dealer called today and said not to remove it yet because he has not been informed by his rep, said he will let me know Monday.

talk to my dealer this morning...the inventory manager stated that if i did nt follow thru with my order, meaning build the car with the standard hood, the dealer would loose allocation for the car and maybe not be able to order it again?...if they ran out of the cf insert, maybe a dealer add on later...

Not sure about the add on later. My dealership just told me that the earlier orders will get the insert and not to change mine. I hope the later ones can get them. I was ticked when I first read on this forum that they weren't going to be available.

My intial order accepted January 5th was with the exposed carbon fiber hood insert. 2 1/2 weeks went by and my dealership was told they were on constraint and if I wanted the car, I would have to change my order to the flat black. I contacted Chevy, recieved a case number, and was contacted by phone. The first rep assigned had no power to do anything and I was assigned a district rep. This rep initialy told me she looked forward to working with me. She told me she would call me back after investigating. When she called back, she told me I can take the car the way it is, or give up my allocation. ( I put a deposit down 2 1/2 years ago) I asked her what happened to working with me? I explained that "the carbon fiber insert has a projected price of over 2000.00 dollars and that it it's unfair that I should have to pay any more than the 600.00 option price, on an option that was initially accepted by the factory. It's not my fault that Chevy has a problem with their supplier. All I ask is for you guys to be fair with me." I had thought that Chevy would do something to work with me, but so far, no solution, no working with me, no nothing. They sell #1, #2, and number 69 to Hendricks, but they can't make good on this? I guess the little guy doesn't matter.
