Z26 pads and then HydrO2 your wheels while they're off. They'll stay looking fresh.

Z26
I just regret

Not to have switch them before
Almost no dust with power stop z26
No difference for daily drive

Great thread...probably my biggest complaint about the car after a month of ownership is how fast the black builds up on the wheels. And I don't really abuse my brakes, very much.

Noticed this as well. For the time being I'm waiting for the pads to wear out then I'll replace them with something more forgiving on my wheels. My friend with a 08 TL Type S had the same issues with his Brembos as well. It's just the nature of their pads I guess.

Also, the easiest brake job I've ever done. All you need is a hammer and a punch.

Yep, I use paint sealant which makes it easier to hose the dust off. Works well enough. I'll consider carbon fiber pads like the Z26 when it's time to change them. For now, I can deal with it.

Those pads are supposed to dust heavy because they are rated for racing. If you don't race it or drive it hard, you can get the GM touring low dust equivalent from the Cadillac that has the same calipers (can't remember if it was ATS-V or CTS-V-Sport). FWIW, this is my second Camaro with this compound, and although it does dust like crazy, I have 60,000 miles without a warped rotor.

WOW...it's been 3 days and my wheels are still gloss black. This is new territory for me.

Just get some caliper covers.

I'm not exagurating when I say 2 days either, its literally not even getting 3 days and the wheels are just filfthy... Does anyone else experience this? I don't mind washing it don't get me wrong.. I just never had brakes that got dirty this fast.
3 Days??? Mine are filthy in 3 miles.

Less actually. Last year I got sh!t from the guys at the car show due to dirty wheels. I drove less than a mile after just washing the car.

No, that probably wouldn't help much and they look bad. Just as bad as painting drum brakes.

I have the PowerStop pads as well and they're great. Initial bite isn't as good, that's true, but they work just as well otherwise and no dust. I wash my car twice a week if it's nice out. This has saved me a ton of time and now I don't have to use dedicated wheel cleaner that smells horrible. Just car shampoo to get rid of the dust and dirt from the road.

My only complaint is the pads are noisy when wet. It only affects the first one or two stops when you're using your car. After that it's fine. Just know they'll squeak a bit at first if they get wet.

Mine ( ceramic Power stop) squeal the first couple brakes in the morning. Can this be fixed?

I used power stop on my corvette and my son's 2000 Camaro. They worked great and no more dirty wheels (mostly)

I only have this issue if they get wet, though I've noticed it happening this winter after it's been sitting for days in the garage. I'm sure moisture is playing a role though as there's a ton of moisture in the air with it snowing, thawing, freezing, repeat.

So I don't have the issue you're describing. The first thing I did when I had the pads put on last spring was the bedding procedure. Did you bed your pads when they were installed?
