Help with USAA rebate

Talked to people that got incentive that did not have USAA auto insurance. I am a USAA member and opened up a checking account with them. I emailed them about the rebate and they replied back saying I'm not eligible because I'm not eligible for their insurance. If you got the gm incentive can you help, thank you,

^-- This.
You should be eligible for the rebate from the dealer (~$750 iirc) by providing them your member number/member card. It was a nice little surprise when my dealer mentioned it while we were filling out paperwork as I was unaware of it before.

Make sure you are a *member* with an ID card. I think anybody can open a checking account with them.

I just gave them my member number and USAA confirmed with the dealer and we were good to go.

You DON'T need their insurance or a bank account. You only need to have your member number.
I have my insurance through another company and bank w/ a credit union and I used the discount.
If someone tells you differently...Their wrong!

As far as I know you must be Property and Casualty insured to take advantage of the rebate, members only. However you may also be eligible for the rebate if you finance your vehicle with USAA FSB. I will ask my wife an employee of USAA.

log on and look under services. you will see info on the car buying services that usaa provides. It lists the discounts there.

On select new models, receive an additional $750 off GM®, $1,000 off Chrysler® or up to $6,000 off Mercedes-Benz® vehicles.3

http://usaa.zag.com/Index.html?referrer_id=ZUSA000088

In the disclaimer it reads " GM, Chrysler and Mercedes-Benz offer discounts only to persons eligible for membership in USAA's Property and Casualty Insurance Group." P&C membership is generally available to current and former members of the U.S. Military and their former dependents. GM requires presentation of proof of USAA eligibility and will accept a USAA card with USAA number, USAA loan documents, or a USAA insurance card at the time of purchase.

You dont have to have the insurance.
It means you must be a Full member. Not everyone qualifies for full membership. You must be enlisted. Or like me i was eligible because my Father inlaw was a member years ago and The Wife had car insurance through him making her a full member.
