The cancer on the top and sail panel caused by the glue on the headliner.

Thankfully mine hasn’t done that yet.

Talking Thanks

New to this Forum: Your post that included info on the "Window and Noise" issues was great in helping me understand what I need to do with those two.

The info on the YouTube videos on the window was helpful. Will look there to see how to remove the door panels which are a little more than difficult to reinstall. e.g. plastic retainer clips are very fragile.

Purchased a 1997 Z28 last year with 20,000 miles. A one owner car BUT he removed the OEM Monsoon radio and installed a High Tech Kenwood sound system. It was a digital touch screen unit. very "DIFFICULT TO OPERATE WHILE DRIVING" I have recently found a OEM Monsoon with Cassette player and it also connects to the OEM 12 disk CD player in the trunk. Sound is terrific.

Thanks again and "Long may you run"

Yeah, I had to replace my headliner as well. I mean all it is , is foam, a little bit of glue and the fabric. Not much there at all

This was probably the most frustrating thing I've ever encountered. My 4th gen started to develop the bubbles as well as 2 5th gen corvettes on the hatchback.

It's bad that there was a design flaw, but what was worse was that the parts were discontinued so the only option gm offered was to get something from the junkyard which would ultimately end up with the same result.

1. Optispark on LT1 (replaced 5 on my car)
2. Engine bay space
3. Window motors

My biggest complaint would have been the LS6 never made it's way into one.

Second biggest complaint would be lack of engine room overall and cowl room for a roots style blower

Pop headlight gears on the Firebirds (stupid plastic gears)

Baby window motors for the biggest window on the planet.

And I'm a bit shocked no one mentioned the angle on the windshield that makes it impossible to clean on the inside. Between the angle and the deep dash you would have to clean the bottom from outside the car and upside down to reach it.

Is this mostly on the hood or spoiler. Although this era is known for clear coat peeling it is my understanding that SLP actually painted the hood and spoiler and I cant tell you how many I have seen that had peeling just kn the those 2 parts but not the rest of the car. My 1996 SS included

I could probably find all (5) of my top compliants in the interior alone. I loved the styling and even mine being an LT1 was very found of the performance curve for what it was but the quality of the interior was just shit. Seat bolster wear, consol lid was junk, carpet seemed impossible to keep clean, dash crack, seat belt buckle ruined the console with scratches, list goes on and on. This being said I still loved it while I had it.

Pic in your avi looks gorgeous. I had a Bright Red Non D82 car as well but mine was a TTOP. Although I love the color palette for these years if I buy another it will be be the same either a HT or TT Non D82 Bright Red car.

There is a guy (i.e. I think he is on here car #1664) who has a BR TT Non D82 with TT2 wheels. The thing is just to die for I hope one day he decides to sell.
