Indy Pace car Replica in Canada.

It sounds like about 45 Pace car replicas will be built for the Canadian market. My dealership in Durham just got allocation of one!

From GM's media site:

Based on a Camaro 2SS model with an RS appearance package, the replica includes the following content:
· 20-inch polished aluminum wheels
· Full body White Pearl decal rally stripes
· Inferno Orange heritage front grille
· Inferno Orange engine cover
· Premium floor mats with accent colors
· 2010 Indianapolis 500 event logo decal on both doors and embroidered on driver and passenger headrests
· 2010 Indianapolis 500 event logo badges on front fenders

Up to 45 pace car replicas will be made available in Canada through the top-selling Camaro dealers based on 2009 retail sales. The manufacturer suggested retail price of the replica package is $7,065.

Ours will have the manual transmission. Exact MSRP is not known but if anyone wants more information like build date and to check it out in person send me a PM for more info. It'll sell quick, very possibly before it ships. If anyone wants to jump on it early, it'll be a future collectible no doubt!

This happens with any kind of special addition, or anniversary vehicle, regardless of manufacturer.
IMO
The best way to make history is with your own car, with minimal aftermarket upgrades. Trust me your "true original" car will stand out more than any other that is so over tuned mechanically and/or cosmetically, to the point that you don't recognize the car.

I think the $7,000 option package includes the price of the RS package, inferno interior trim, the polished wheels and the stipes and the other accessories. That stuff alone is almost $4,000.Its not like the markup for the decals and badge alone is 7 grand, its everything above a base SS.

Well, considering that a regular 2SS/RS is going for $36,000 in the states, and this "indy" package is going for $42,000 ( http://media.gm.com/content/media/us...06_camaro_pace ).... I'd say that the $7000 premium in Canada is accurate.... For those who would pay, I guess a fool and his/her money are easily parted.

Does anyone know the width of the stripes used on the Indy Pace car as I would like to get it done after market. I found a local shop that can get the white diamond colour but needs the dimensions for the stripes.

Thanks,

There will be someone that wants this car. It does seem excessive but they are only building a few of these. We are one of the dealers that will be getting one. Let me know if you have any questions.

Yeah. Are you guys moving from the Yonge/Steeles location to Richmond Hill?

I see your sign on the lawn at the old Pontiac dealership on Yonge Street.

I like pace cars and am looking forward to adding this one to my small collection.

We are still at Yonge and Steeles. We closed down our Pontiac dealership in Richmond Hill. Let me know if you have any questions. I will be sure to help.

I thought all these cars were to be automatics? Sounds to me like they will sticker up here for 52k.
