thx itsadryheat,if i go that route im probably gonna have to wire it in the start mode these 79 camaros dont have a neutral safety switch, well they do but its built in the steering colum and its operated in the engine bay by the backdrive mechanism.not even sure yet how im gonna wire in the neutral safety switch for the auto shifter since i converted it to auto from manual, gotta figure that one out yet.

This is my 79 Z-28 RS Camaro . I have a supercharged small block ,along with big tube headers in it.I used to have starter problems as well. Until I started using mini starters with a heat shield .I also made my own battery cable using welding cable with a high output Optima battery. I routed my electrical wire between the inner and outer fenders .Using plastic conduit to keep the wires from fraying .And it cleans up the engine compartment. If you an antenna in the wind shield the connector is in the middle ,at the bottom of the glass. Good luck on your project.
