Here's my first and only (so far) Camaro. (The new Z/28 has me thinking though.) Bought in 1973, yep she is an original. Below the picture is a video/sound clip from the ole 302, in the dark. I have to say that we did install the 3rd grind off road race cam that was available back in the day. I guess you will have to click on the second image to get it to load the video.

70-73 the style and handling alone puts the 1st gen to shame...

10-13-5th, 70-73-2nd & 1st in that order. The 3rd and 4th being the least liked as they have always been a bit odd to me being hatchback wedge shaped cars its almost as if the camaro DNA was almost completely lost in those two generations.

Always loved the 1st generation, 69 specifically, but love my 5th gen for handling and performance. That refueled my passion for for camaro's and found a very straight/ no rust/ 69 less motor and trans for 5k. Not An SS, but doing a full body off build with ride tech suspension.

Nice 69 Z. Just needs the grill surround painted blue and rocker moldings reinstalled. What part of Pittsburgh are you from?

There are reasons for everything! When I purchased this car the grill and surround were silver, I liked it and kept it that way. The grill and grill surround had been replaced at the dealer from damage received from kissing a snow bank by the original owner. It didn't have the rocker or door moldings on it when I bought it either, so just left it that way. The only other thing that isn't right about the car is that it has the old slapper traction bars, which I wanted to keep as well. A frame off was done in the mid '90s and I decided that I wanted it to be my Z/28, not necessarily a perfect original one.
The rest of the car is original, well except the heads. They are '68 vette heads that we had used on a race car. I live near Beaver Falls. Thanks for the kudos! |

Like the 5th gen as well as the 1st gen Camaro's mostly
due to the styling heritage of the new ones ! My oldest brother had a used '69 Camaro 327/300 horse car. Originally a shade of green ~ Remember him bringing it over, and dad and him working on the engine. Then they shut the hood and my father starts it up and backs out and just floors the pedal. Started in rock but dad didnt let off it squealed for two houses. I guess that was when dad let of the gas.
