Did some more adjusting today. Switched out the standard 7 psi wastegate spring for a 13 psi unit, played w/ the controller some more e-boost 2 btw. and put it on our neighbors dynapak dyno so it could be properly loaded down. Well on 15 psi it's making 935 rwhp went to turn it up and this thing is getting so hot next to the wires it ate them. Keep in mind they had the heat sleeve dei fiberglass style boots on them!! So we are going to put a set of the oem type metal shields on them along w/ our higher temp dei wrap and things should be much happier. I realize that posting every little quirk may seem odd to some but I am all about full disclosure and when building a super high hp build sometimes little things take playing with and figuring out what will make that setup the happiest. I will say earlier in the day before we had wire issues we maxed out what the dyno could read in terms of tq. (maxes out at 4000 nm) So all super high boost pulls will be done in 5th gear which won't give the true 1:1 reading but will still be a ton of hp. If none of you have seen the dynapak dyno it's the hub style that eliminates the potential for wheel spin.

Here is the fun pic of to much tq haha

Isn't 4000 nm 2950 ft lbs?

Yes, that is what it equates to...

There is no way, in any stretch of the imagination or dimension, the engine made that but it still freaked out the dyno!

It also made 785rwhp on the new springs at 10psi.

Of course it can make that at the hubs.

You have engine torque multiplied by the drivetrain, so torque seen at the hubs or rollers will always be much higher than engine torque itself.

that's why the likes of rear shafts/axles need to be a lot more substantial than say the input shaft on the gearbox

Ya everytime a car is dynoed there it spits out a huge tq number and you have to go in and correct it for a realistic value. I don't own the dyno nor operate it during the pulls so I can't comment directly on what he adjust but it's always a big value at first.

If he has set the gearing, hub speed etc correctly, then I'd presume it should read normal numbers.

that's just basic setup on any dyno though I'd think ?

I got that warning years ago on a dynapack and had to use 5th gear. Although next time I was there, they had uprated the software, which somehow allowed the unit to run much higher. It's an expensive upgrade though.

The hub dyno seemed quite happy at the high speeds seen in 5th gear though. If wheels were on, it would have been equivalent to about 190mph. Dont think it was actually rated that high.....but as the operator said...it was his dyno lol
We tried a few times

Ums has the second highest rated units available the 4000nm units. After it did that we did pulls in 5th. For example on 11psi he made 785 in 4th but only 727 in 5th.so keep in mind people when we do the high boost pulls they will more than likely have to be in 5th to get a reading. I will state though what gear the respective power numbers were made in.

Sure it wasn't a one off error? I know there are cars/trucks that have made 1000-1100ftlbs on there so it could have been one freak pull.

Should make solid power at 20-21psi. Figuring Ysi/376 with same motor setup made 1090 easy enough at 20psi this car should beat that since it doesn't have a blower to spin robbing 80-100hp.

very possible, we are going to throw it back on i believe this afternoon and try again in 4th at the high boost. we are saving each run individually as when it did that screen it loses all the runs prior to it :(

Ok got some more numbers for everyone that I think you will be happy with. The graph showing the 3 settings is as follows.
15 psi 4th gear
17 psi 5th gear
21 commanded but only holds 19.5 5th gear

We had to do 5th gear because it was maxing out the tq reading on his dyno. So we did a 15psi pull in 4th and 5th to show the loss in power to try and show what it would make on high boost assuming it jumps up the same hp not a % gain. which would mean it would go up higher. Now the reasoning for the commanded 21 and falling off to 19.5 could be a few things as we have eliminated the possibility of wastegate spring. There could be a restriction on the exhaust housing ie the .82 not flowing enough and needing to step up to the 1.0. or the small outlets on the charge side and the y-pipe agp makes to connect the two. Personally I feel it's on the exhaust side as when it hits 21psi it basically instantly drops to 19.5.

Here is the graph showing the difference from the blower (in 4th gear) to the turbo on max boost (in 5th gear) pretty funny it made the same peak hp but jesus look at the curve compared to the blower!!!!!! All of us agree that in 4th this thing is every bit 1130-1150 rwhp assuming it picks up the same hp difference from 4th to 5th as on low boost. It could be more if the difference is a % gain not a simple jump up.

This is the same as above just the peak hp on the blower one (yellow) was clicked in the wrong spot.

This graph shows the difference between low boost and high both done in 5th gear.

Please take note the difference in 15psi in 4th and 5th. 926 vs 824 rwhp! This thing is making some serious power that's for sure

Video's of the pulls

Well the time has come and the transport truck is picking her up tonight to take her back home So glad to have been the place Blake trusted to make his car get to the next level and become the rocket ship it is now! From all of us at CPR we thank you sir and everyone who followed this build thread. If anyone has any questions on this please don't hesitate to call, email, or pm me and I would be glad to go over every little detail on this car.

Ready to get picked up.

What were the final numbers? Did you ever solve the boost drop? did you ever get it on a different dyno that would not have the problems this dyno had?

Blake, congrats. Enjoy your car. Mine goes in, in a week!!!!

We did solve the boost drop. Originally it had the base wastegate springs in it which in v8 applications it's extremely hard to double the boost without an issue. Unless you have Co2 on top of the gate to hold it down. We put in stiffer springs and on the dyno it would hit 21 and drop to about 19.5-20 on the dyno which is attributed to a load issue. On the street we verified with Blake's consent of course that it holds 21 no problem. We did not put it on another dyno as it would only spin on any of the other readily available dyno's. It's quite easy to see this car is every bit a 1150 to almost 1200 rwhp car in 4th gear on a dyno that will hold the power.
