What does the HouZe think about the Mid-Engined Corvette? Will it be another model from the standard Corvette or replace it?

Well the original C7 was a replacement. I can see them doing a very high end first and ultimately phasing out the C7 and replacing it with a more basic mid engines car. Kind of the reverse of today where the ZR1 launches last.

I read an interview with Tadge where he said going mid engine would only increase about 4-5k over the C7. That would be impressive.

Here's the article. He said MSRP would go up $5k for a mid engine Corvette.

Tadge Juechter had a PowerPoint presentation demonstrating, very credibly, that the C6 ZR1 was at the limit of usable rear-wheel-drive performance. The problemwas really the front-mid-engine layout—we couldn't get the engine low enough and far back enough for proper weight transfer to the rear wheels under acceleration.

I didn't want to move out of our price class, but Tadge explained that while the transmission would cost more, the list price would increase by no more than $5000. Imagine an American-built car with the proportions of a Lamborghini at that price point …that's pretty appealing.

^It just looks way too much like a C7. They need to stretch on this design besides making a ME car look so much like a C7.

Yeah, I think the styling needs to be more or less a clean sheet design, but that shows the C7 can still look good, even with mid engine proportions.

That's true, for sportscars. I guess the expectation was set by the dealer saying it would arrive the following week. Also others who ordered after me have received theirs.

You'll get it soon and it will be worth the wait. Can't wait to see it.

Still haven't sold my 1LE. I don't think I'm asking too much for it but ill be damned if I sell it for some of the low ball offers I've been getting. I just can't let it go for under 30. Its only got 24k miles on it. The wife is getting more accustomed to the idea of me keeping it so thats good but it would be nice to have one less car payment. Glad to see how GM is advancing the 1LE and keeping with the tradition of outperforming much more expensive cars.
