HID headlight not working.

alright, 2010 2LT RS, so factory HID's

left side headlight does not light. when replacing the bulb with a known good bulb ( new and from other side ) it still will not work.

I also tried checking the fuse. The fuse is good and checks out ok.

Headlight assembly does have moisture in it most of the time.

I figured if the headlight leaked enough water, it would blow the fuse, or if the wiring was going to ground, it would blow the fuse.

Since it's not the bulb, or the fuse, I am out of ideas ...

Anyone been through this before ?

It's probably the fuse, check the underhood fuse box. There is a diagram that will tell you which fuse is which. I would go with it being that since changing a bulb did nothing...

I checked the fuse, it is fuse 46 as per the manual. The fuse was good.

Anything else to check ?

Got a volt meter? Trace it backwards from the bulb...start at the bulbs socket...good luck

I have a volt meter, but YIKES !

I see the wires go into never never land , I'd hate to start a frame off restoration just to get access to the wires .

Where do they go once they get tucked under near the bumber ?

wouldn't I want to trace from the fuse box forward ? since the wires at the plug should be 0 since it wont's work ?

I dunno, I think I'm over my head, and will just bring it into the shop before I start tracing wires I can't see.

Thanks.

I was hoping there was a relay, or something else that would be easy to check .

*** UPDATE ***

This morning the headlight works. Last night driving home in the dark it didn't.

It's going to be pretty hard having a shop fix a headlight that works .

I'm hoping it was water or moisture getting in there, and with the weather it just happened to get cold enough for it to work again .. I dunno

I'm still going to go ahead and put in a new headlight assembly, since the once now used to have moisture in it, and I'm sure will again as soon as it rains.

anyone else see this before ?

do 2010's have electrical problems ?
