Cheap Drag Wheels?

I've got a 17/18" setup on my car (2014 SS) right now with 305/45/17 ET Streets on the rear, but I'm going to put some nitto DR's on those wheels for cruising purposes and save the MT's for the track. Other than VMS/Race Star are there any other budget friendly 17" wheel options for our cars, like maybe factory wheels off another camaro/vette/etc? I don't really care what they look like as long as they clear stock brakes/suspension and are 10-11" width.

I had the same question and found the sticky(race wheel and tire) in the wheel and tire section of this forum written by pro shop John answered all of my questions (same as yours). Very well written and informative!

I haven't come across any cheaper than VMS or Race Star.

Having had Racestars, and now VMS... the VMS get my vote for aesthetics and fitment. I hate the shank style lugs with the Racestars, and hate the hub centering rings. The VMS will use a stock style conical lug - which means no extra set of lugs, and no centering rings. They fit the front (18x4.5) without modification, and the rears (17x10) just needed the e-brake cable tied back and a 3mm spacer.

And lets face it, they look awesome!

I think the VMS wheels look great, they obviously remind us of another popular wheel lines rhymes with Veld lol.

And I'm a fan of running stock style conical lugs for the reasons Andrew stated, balancing, etc.

Do they sell 17" fronts? That would be my only knock.

Yea - they are a pretty obvious rip off for the poors (like me). They do have a 17x4.5 5x120 25mm backspace front.

Well with the added power from the new blower pulley some guy with a green camaro *ahem* twisted my arm into buying I decided to bypass the 17" track wheels and go ahead and do a 15" conversion, so no VMS for me, lol.

I did find some 15×10 racestars on decent discount from Summit, just waiting on BMR to build my LCA's and trailing arms and they will be going on wrapped in some 275/60/15 Hoosier DR's.

Never trust a guy in a green Camaro - 10/10 a psycho that will spend your money, or worse!

I actually took advantage of that clearance deal. I did the 18x10.5. Can't beat the price.
