Exclamation Engine pull

Anyone have a good guide for pulling the engine on the SS. Specifically the L99 but a guide for the LS3 would be helpful also.

It's a lot to list honestly, but it goes by pretty fast when doing it. You can message me if you need some help.

Ahh okay will do man. The reason I’m pulling it is because I have an oil leak near the oil cooler , filter and there’s some drops that accumulated by the bell housing and block so I’m worried it might be the rear main. I will post another thread tmr with pictures of the leak tomorrow to get some advice.

Gotcha, hoping for you it's not rear main. Oil cooler and such is accessible while engine is in the car so thats good.

If it is the rear main, wouldn't it be easier to pull the trans?

Possibly however I’m doing a DOD delete with a cam and upgraded oil pump so pulling the motor out would make everything much easier and if it is the rear main I’ll have access to it so I think it’s my best option right now.

I hope you could share what you found of the leak. I'm eager to know so I could plan of how to fix the stubborn oil leak of mine. Good luck man!

its not that bad, 3ish hour job. I deleted my oil cooler because mine was leaking too.

Pulled the motor did the DOD AFM delete and VVT delete. Put on stage 2 TSP cam kit and new oil pump all new gaskets as well. Pretty easy pull once everything is out the way. Started by taking radiator out and the accessories that where accessible. I didn’t have to disconnect any AC lines or remove the condenser just moved it off to the side. Moved entire wiring harness out the way. Removed everything from the engine except the heads and front timing cover and harmonic balancer. Used some grade 8 bolts and pulled the motor from the valley cover.
