When/How to order 2012?

Hey guys, new to the site so bear with me!

Recently decided I really wanna get a camaro. Went to a dealer today and he tells me I just missed the cutoff for ordering a 2011. (Although it appears thats all I can order on the chevy website??) He told me to go back home and order a 2012 and they'll get it for me and what not. However, I cant seem to find where to go to order??

Again, I'm a total newbie here, so go easy on me!

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

The 2011 model year will stop production July 1st and then 2012 production will start on the 18th. If the dealer has allocation for a 2011 you can still order it. Figure out what type of camaro you want and the options you want and go to your dealer, negotiate a good price and have your dealer place the order

Oh I see. So the 2012's are NOT yet available to order?

Also, to find out if a dealer can still get 2011's, should I just call them and ask?

Thanks for your help Panther, much appreciated!

Krodgers, welcome to the C5 Site! Thanks for asking and for your first post!

+1 on Panther's advice. You can also contact one of the many fine dealers here through the C5 forum, that's how I decided to buy my car. Among them are BeckyD@RodgersChevrolet.com who helped inform me, especially when my local dealer could not help me get an allocation from GM to build a car.

Becky courtesy shipped OrangeVert from the Oshawa plant right to my local dealer here in NH, even though I bought the car from her remotely in Woodhaven, Michigan.

Good luck on getting your soon-to-be-built ride and please be sure to keep us in the loop! The day you drive it you will feel like a rock star!!! Permagrin is the gift (or VIN: g1ft) that keeps on giving!

Thank you for the EXTREMELY helpful information OrangeVert! I will be sure to contact Becky, and keep you informed if something progresses. In reading your journal, it appears I'm having a bit of an experience like yours. I just got to thinking one day when driving behind a Camaro that I REALLY would love to drive one of those!

As I said, I hope I can get something going here soon.

Again, much thanks for the information!
