Order question.
Can someone explain this,it is a message at the order tracking site.
Congratulations on placing an order for your new Chevrolet. Your dealer has received an order number from Chevrolet. Once your dealer has an available production slot, your order will be scheduled for production. You can sign back in at any time to see your vehicle’s progress or click on the accessories area below to further make this vehicle your very own.

It means that your order has ONLY been placed in the system.
Your dealer DOES NOT have an allocation for your order. Your order will just sit and go nowhere until your dealer has an allocation. You could be waiting a few days, a few weeks, or a few months before your order moves at all. Your dealer knows when his next allocation is available and whether it's yours. Is there anyone else waiting who has placed an order in front of you at the dealership? Will he be honest with you or string you along? No one will really know but him. I would only place an order with a dealer who has an allocation, like one of the fine dealers who frequent this site.

I asked the dealer today why is there no movement on my order and he told me it was due to the color ordered (IBM).
3/29/11 1100 3/29/11 1102 Is this B.S. or is he being honest,I asked about dealer allocation and he has yet to get back to me.

My order is IBM and I've moved from 3300 to 3400 today. So unless I 'got lucky' and am one of the last to get that color, it shouldn't be an issue.

Someone is stringing you along. The saleman may not know all about the dealers' allocations, but someone there DOES!! and should be able to tell you when they have an allocation available for your order.

I agree but it just continues, today I was told that there are constrictions on my order and once again the person that does all the ordering is not around to explain.
I am off Monday so I will be going to the dealership to get some answers and possibly cancel my order with them.I do not mind the wait just be straight with me.

It's BS! It doesn't matter what color you ordered - it won't move along until the dealer has an allocation. Call him on it - either he doesn't know what he is talking about or he wants you to wait until they have allocation instead of finding a dealer that has one now. Be proactive with this.

This is bullshit, as you can see from my production schedule. 2011 IBM 2SS/RS. Find a new dealer.

Ohten,
Have to agree with BlueDragonVT, sounds like . Color should not make a difference afaik, but for sure without a dealer allocation the car you order cannot be built!!! Take your dealer to task & bring them back to the real subject of allocation - when will they have an allocation for you? If they change the subject, I'd walk away fast. Because beyond this, as 67 Convertible said, you then have to trust them with the rest of your order. If they obfuscated on this, it's only the beginning - what about the rest of the process??? Over the last 34 years of buying cars, I've learned to get out quick when sales people don't seem to know what's going on. Either they really don't know (bad), or they are trying to me via absence of information (worse). I like to think it's the former, as I always give people the benefit of the doubt first . But more than once it ended up being the latter and bit me hard in the end (my fault). I had a similar experience ordering my 2011 vert. At first my local dealer did not mention allocation. Two PMs to BeckyD on this site, and I knew about allocation - and ended up ordering long distance through her. If it weren't for Becky I would probably have backed out and not ordered a car, even as beautiful as it will be. If you need better info please do not hesitate to contact any one of the dealer members here on Camaro5, a very helpful one of which is BeckyD. Because I did that, I know I'll end up with the car I dreamed about in the beginning, and a great summer & next 10 years - instead of a canceled order. Good luck, Ohten!

Where do you find detailed info on the order you placed? I went to track my order and only get "Order Placed" and "Vehicle Queued For Production". So, where did I need to go? GM Canada? Must I find patience?:flag2::flag1::bangdesk:

Just talked to GM and found out that they have a material restriction on the Imperial Blue Metallic, which actually means..........no paint.

Red Jewel, Imperial Blue and Cyber Gray are on constraint for greater than 4 weeks. It could be the dealer didn't have allocation immediately but when he did, the car would go thru Pass One because of the color.
Anyone who ordered these colors weeks ago could have gotten them until the constraint was on. The dealer is not full of it. He should have explained constraints and Pass One.

So if the order has made it to 3300 will it be held up or have they already cleared they have enough paint to push the order through production?
