So I went down to my local dealership to order my 2012 Convertible (they have allocation for 1 this Thurday, YEA!), however, the Crystal Red was not an option for ordering. I've read in numerous threads that this was going to be an option for 2012 - So now I'm confused.

I have personally never heard of crystal red being offered as a color, but I'm a coupe man. Don't really use the Chevy website to build my own vert

From someone who works for a dealership...Crystal Red is supposed to replace Red Jewel Tintcoat for 2012 but there is a major glitch with that color, and many others right now...the pigments come from Japan. Can't order Crystal Red, Imperial Blue, Carlisle Blue (new color for Vettes), and several others. They have no idea when they will be available again.

Sucks!

If Crystal Red had have been available in 2010 I would of had it rather then IOM. Had my heart set on a Crystal Red Maro.

All of the metallics are on hold right now to order because of the japan crisis... That's the info I got from my dealer.

The only one available when I placed my order last Friday was IOM. Nothing about the new ones or any being available at start up. If you want a metallic, you maybe waiting quite a while. Mine is going in as black but before it gets submitted I am having him double check to see if IBM is available.
