Venting crankcase pressure?
Just was reading a thread where a guy possibly blew a seal due to too much crankcase pressure. I was just wondering with my upcoming mods (28% over drive lower pulley, stainless power headers, 1 step colder plugs, and tune) if I will want to do anything special for venting excess crankcase pressure. I already have an Apex catch can which I read helps, but is there anything else I should consider to avoid these kind of problems?

a breather in place of the oil cap helps. You get a little spatter of oil but it is much better than a rear main leak. Some catch cans have a breather on top of them. Check out Smitty's setup as he posted some pics of his underhood.

I ran a breather oil cap, but got tired of it spraying oil everywhere. Swapped to a very nice mighty mouse catch can. I've had elite, RX and a few others and MM is hands down the nicest I've had. You can run their race can, draft can, or PCV can.

Is it possible to add a breather on the side of the Apex catchcan?

Does anyone know if it be possible to use the two side ports on the E2 catch can for the inlet and outlet, then use the top port for a vent ?

None so far. I just drove 600 miles and not a drop. I don't have the catch can yet but will be putting that on.
I checked it along the way, and not a drop of oil so far. I'll check it again on the way back and let you know if I see anything. So far, looks good... -Don |

I do have a catch can and wanted to use both as I am running around 14 psi of boost. I really like the looks of the vent on Smittys car. Would like to be able to go this route. |

I also have the mightmouse pcv catch can but it is not here yet. Have the gen5 mount. Once I get it, I'll post what it looks like...
