Is that just an oil cap that is ventilated?

Here is a pick of the new mount and catch can. David used my car to design the new brackets.

It releases pressure but has internals (I believe a way to trap the oil) to prevent oil from escaping -- but it is an new oil filler cap -- and a bit taller too so the beauty cover (on mine) was taken off. i need to raise the post about 3/8 in to get it to fit again...

So far, has done a great job...

So it vents pressure and replaces the current oil cap? Also it wont fit with the engine cover?

I didn't have issues with a vented cap until I did 1/2 mile races. Short blast on the street it is fine, but do a 0-180mph and oil was everywhere.

Yes, vents and replaces the oil cap, and I had to add spacers to the fuel rail bolts in order for the cap to have clearance for the cover. About 3/8" to 1/2 thick.

I have one that I just discovered the check valve was in backward from the maker. Ugh...........

Let air in but not out. Should have been the other way around.

How much boost do you need to be running when this becomes an issue?

I already have an Apex catch can which I read helps, but is there anything else I should consider to avoid these kind of problems?
I would contact David at Mighty Mouse Catch Cans. I am very Happy with the new setup he put together for me. The old setup was just not working. If you have any questions just pm me.

I had an oil cap vent on mine for about 3000 miles. Got on the gas one day and check engine light came on with an O2 sensor code. Brought it to the dealer and after checking it out, they said it was the breather throughout the voltages off and that the PCV had to be a closed system. Put the original cap back on and code has not returned. Has anyone with the filler cap breathers had this issue or is dealer full of it.

Lean or rich 02 code? If you get a tune with the breather in place, there will not be an issue. If they had to replace an 02 that was faulty, they are full of it.

No, they know what they are talking about. If you have an open breather it brings in air that has not been metered by the MAF sensor. Look at the stock routing. The breather hoses from the valve covers lead to the intake tube after the MAF but before the throttle blades. The air entering the crankcase has been measured/metered by the MAF. Then it exits the crankcase thru the PCV hose and goes in the intake AFTER the throttle blade and into the engine. If the PCV airflow hasn't been measured it's the same as a vacuum leak and will lean out the engine.
