Angles make a huge difference. And aqua blue is a very chameleon-like paint. It changes considerably in color just based off what/how much light is hitting it.
For giggles, I stood in one spot yesterday and I could easily see 6+ different "shades" of blue, just depending on where I was looking on car and how light was hitting it. Hoping this will help hide the fact that I won't get a perfect match. As for prep, the pieces are painted and on the car already. They are just painted a dark gray instead. There are a few chips in them that are going to need sanded down, but thinking prep for this won't be bad at all. Worst case, if I fail at this too bad, I will glady take it to a body shop to get it right (or as close to as I can). But, this seemed like a great way to start learning how to paint. Hopefully it doesn't take too many tries! I will let everyone know how it turns out once we are done with it
