Have aftermarket deck - now what for new amp?

Hi All,

I have the PAC unit plus kenwood aftermarket deck. Also went ahead and bought new speakers. Next on the line up is to swap out the factory Boston acoustic amp. Wasn’t sure - do I need a fark or is that only for when you have a factory deck? I’d like to avoid running all new speaker wire but running RCAS to the back of the deck is expected.

Thanks!

Mike

Thanks for this! Big question is do I need something so I don’t have to run speaker wire. I’d like to just use the factory wire since it’s already ran.

Btw amp looks incredible if it’s actually decent in real life.

big d wiz and Budget Gem or Budget Bust tell it how it is. they buy the amps and have no obligation to the company's.
i would have to look around you can also to find the speaker wire diagram i ran wire to the factory amp speaker output cut the wires i needed to connect to then soldered and heat shrank. depending on where you put the amp you don't need much wire. if you are not comfortable doing it go to bestbuy or a local installer you trust.

The FARK comes with a harness that lets you use the factory wire that comes out of the factory plug from the amplifier. It also taps the wire from the front of the car to turn it into RCAs for audio input to your amp. I preferred to run RCAs from my head unit to the amp.

Run the RCAs from your head unit back to the amp. You'll thank yourself later. Was getting nasty alternator whine trying to use the fark harness.

I did that. I did not want to risk that alternator whine. I had that on my last car. Will do the same thing for my subwoofer installation. Gents, this is amazing advice!

Definitely use the part of the kit that lets you output from your amp onto the factory wiring to your speakers. You can return unused parts of the kit. I used that part and the rear speaker adapters.
