New Truck to match My Z28

I have had pretty much every body style truck GM has made in the last 40 years. I loved my 2015. Was the same basic truck as my new one, just in a Chevy version without a trailer brake controller bought new in 14. Put 40k miles on it. Always wished it had the integrated trailer brake controller. I never planned to sell the truck but GM decided to build the 2015 Z28 and I traded the 15 Silverado in on that car. Great decision as I love that car and I knew it would be much easier to find another truck later down the road or not. This was a lot of work.

I dont like the 19. They truck keeps getting thicker and I think it will look funny lowered.

I paid to much for this truck as GM is not offer any rebates right now. I could wait for them, but then this truck might sell and there are no others like it. It has every single one of my must have options a few of my wanted options. I think the only thing missing is the spray on bed liner but thats is easy to add. My plan was to finance the Fireball package at time of purchase but I was unable to find anyone willing to lend me that much over invoice. At least not when I have the Z28 payment as well. I think, I will leave the truck (kinda) stock for a year and then just pay cash for the Fireball upgrade. No mater what at some point the truck will be super charged. Will be lowered in a few weeks.

I found the truck 6.5 hours away in NE after many calls and chats with GM. GM always wants your zip code and only searches for vehicles within so many miles. They deny this, but try asking a few different times, with different zip codes you get different results. I was told several times this truck wasn't in stock anywhere in the US but I kept searching. Took 3 full weeks to find it. I even tried to order the truck. I have my order number but the allocation was closed 3-23. I was told there was basically no way GM would build my truck at this point. They are getting ready to build the 2019's. I canceled that order this morning.

Persistence... I finally got my 2015 Z28 in Dec of 2017 brand new hiding in a dealership in TX and I found my exact truck in NE. It wasn't really hiding but it seems no one but me wants a loaded regular cab. I drove a few 4 doors even ones with the 6.2 and they are pigs compared to the regular cab with the 3:42's. I want a truck for sport and fun not to haul the family around. My family actually all fits in the regular cab as we are a small family.

Anyway here is another picture of another black 2018 Sierra. The difference is this one is mine. I have not seen the truck in person. Deal is done and they have the funds and I own the truck. Hope they really keep it locked up inside until I can get up there to get it. I added my Z28 just cause.... Truck will get the same stripes the day I get it home.

I love the wheels on it, and wanted those wheels as a must have but... Im wondering if I should put Z28 wheels on it to match. They seem to be rather common but those other guys don't have the real Z28 at home. Yes, it will get the same stripes as my Z28. Likely before I even get it home.

Rims on car are 5 lug, truck is 6 lug, think you going to have a hard time finding rims to fit, or there going to be coustom.

Nice truck! Cant wait to see it lowered and the stripes. Im pretty sure this is probably one of our Fort Wayne built trucks. I also have to agree with you on the 2019's that I just can't get ahold of yet, over time maybe... and I'm sure people will line up to get the latest and greatest. 2018 is the last of the regular cabs built at Fort Wayne so THANK YOU... hope you enjoy!

I also want to say I know first hand what you went through to find the exact truck you are looking for with the right options, very hard to get exactly what you want without ordering and to late to order so most people settle or just get whats local to them so props to you on doing the leg work. It'll make your truck just that much better.

Nope... very very common replica wheels. You can get a 6 lug set for $1200 on ebay.

Not a huge fan of lugnut covers on wheels either but I still think it would look killer with those wheels and stripes

I don't like the caps... but to have the almost the same wheels on both its probably worth dealing with them. Cannot really have the same wheels made in a 6 lug without them.

The other option is wheel adapters. Im afraid that would push the Z28 wheels to far out. Yes, I already have a second set of Z28 wheels. I will have to measure that option when I get the truck home.

I so don't understand why no one else buys them. People often comment that they didn't know GM still made 2 door trucks.

I have had a couple extended cabs and didn't like any of them. Sold a 2004 Duramax a few days ago with a tuner and only 97,000 miles. The thing was a tank. My new 1500 will kick its as every witch way except seating.

Im not convinced a Duramax will pull 6,000 lbs faster then a Regular Cab 5.3. I have owned both and pulling the same load the regular cab feels faster. It will be faster once the super charger is on it.

I don't think I will ever understand the current craze of rolling coal in a big ass slow truck.

Truck looks good...I like those 2 doors.

Only thing i hate about gm/chevy trucks is the square fender wells. It would look good if it had lego blocks for wheels.
