You would modify the ZL1?
I have a discussion with a friend, he showed me a site that sells (ZL1 Supercharger System Upgrade - 630HP) for something a bit more expensive than 2k, I said that I wouldn`t like to make modifications to a car like the Camaro ZL1 that is already is made to run.
http://www.phastekperformance.com/20...-zl1-630hp.htm I have 2 questions 1) would make any modification to your ZL1 2) driving the Camaro ZL1, gently and slowly in a city, how much gas could consume? |

I recommend visiting our Sponsor's websites and seeing what they have available soon.
The easiest mods' are going to be bolt-ons (i.e. headers, CAI, pulleys, tune, etc.). I think it will be tough to manage better than 18 MPG, average, aroung town just tickling the throttle.

Just like I did to my ZR1, I will put the same parts on my ZL1. CNC'd LS3 heads, cam, long tube headers, upper and lower pulley, heat exchanger, thermal dispersant coating on the after cooler, TR7 spark plugs (colder spark plug), CAI and some other tricks. I have all the parts ready to go for when I receive the car minus the HEX (heat exchanger), I still have to design that, and the CAI. I'll baseline dyno the car then start adding parts to see what each part will make in power, then advertise here.

Because some might use it every day...and trying to take full advantage of the 580 hp in the city or around town will make the driver look like an irresponsible idiot? Just a thought.
In all seriousness...streets can be tight, and perhaps the OP isn't in a rush that day? Legitimate question. I imagine it could return anywhere from 14-16 mpg city. |
