You do know that Walmart Mobil1 is a different blend than the regular Mobil1 right?

Call their customer service line and they will tell you. They do it for Walmart only. Hence the price.

Why do you buy stuff from walmart for your Camaro anyway??

Its like going to Orileys and buying Royal Purple synthetic, when behind the counter they have Royal Purple Synthetic HPS, which is what the cars should be running on , not the diluted synthetic cheap oil lol. Its a huge gimmick these days now, almost all brands do this. lmao Im a royal purple guy and all oil purchased will be the HPS brand.

Have any links, or other proof that it's a different oil? From 5 min on Google, all I could find was that it's the same, simply cheaper at Wal-Mart due to their purchasing power. Not doubting you, just would like to know definitively one way or the other. Maybe it's a Canadian market thing?

It's not like this is an exotic, where should OP be buying oil? The whole Camaro stereotype would actually be shopping at Wal-Mart, lol.

Old info, but the only "official" thing I saw:

Its the same damn jug they sell at CTC.

If it was a different formula it wouldn't be Dexos approved.

Yes, an oil rep for Mobil1 came to the shop and informed us that the formulation used at Walmart is the ONLY different version of the formula meant for Walmart customers.

Yes its in the same package but a different version of the formula.

Also, Mobil1 is a class 3 synthetic. Its comparable to a semi synthetic at best.

DEXSOS is GMs definition of semi synthetic. I was a GM tech.

I use Amsoil signature series. Its a TRUE class 4 synthetic. It doesnt get any more better than that.

In order to label oil a synthetic, by law, all you need to do is change 1 mmolecule in it and it becomes a `synthetic`.

Oil is oil, its the additives in it that give it the name `synthetic`.

Wrong! I knew you were wrong so I wrote to ExxonMobil and here is their response

TC,

Yes, Walmart caries the exact same formulation of Mobil 1 that any other retailer would carry. They simply buy a large quantity from us, so they are able to charge less for it.

Thank you for choosing Mobil,

Thanks for being an impartial third party and busting another internet myth.

I really wasn't in the mood to argue this.
