Best Clutch Option for 700RWHP?
So,
I'm in need of a new clutch for my ZL1 - I have 700RWHP - what are my options and does anybody have any feedback on those options, positive or negative? If I'm not mistaken we have a different setup in the ZL1 (flywheel?) which means we need specific clutch kits? I know McLeod list a ZL1 specific kit in their catalogue, but can't find it online anywhere. Any advice here is welcome as I'm clueless haha!

I like the way the one on Lingenfelter website is described. You may want to see if anyone has personal experience with it. http://www.lingenfelter.com/mm5/merc...6#.U6HhLvldWbM

most of the 2013-2014 cobra crowd runs the Mcleod I do believe.
I am not sure I would go with the Zr1 clutch just because it is an oem piece for a car with quite a bit less power than you are making so you would have less margin than a piece designed for your power level.

Phil, I really liked the Hendrix Street Slayer twin carbon that I had in my old SS. It is made by RPS. They also make a triple disc.

I'm still running a stock clutch. No hint of any problems yet.

It was weird that I had no issues at all at the track and then it just started to slip on way home mind you...I would expect it to start after frying it at track but it just started out of the blue on relatively quiet drive home - and it went from no slip at all to slipping in every gear I have not driven the car for a week but will take it out this weekend and see if it's any better, but it's on it's last legs for sure. I have burnt it up a couple of times pretty bad at the track whilst I was getting used to the power.... with smoke coming from under the car... so it's my own fault and doesn't surprise me that it's given up I have about 40 passes on it, with a lot of those at this power level

I launch at 4000 rpm with drag radials and 4500 rpm with the 17" Hoosier slicks, I come off the clutch pretty aggressive. Lol. It's surprised me it's holding up. I've never smoked it.

Well that's harder than I launch mine haha! Do you No-Lift Shift it too? As i say I smoked it REAL bad once - could still smell the clutch for about 2 hours afterwards

I would send jessrayo a message on here. I know he's burned up several different clutches, is above your power level, and no lift shifts. I'm sure he would have plenty of feedback.

I only no lift shift when I'm racing islander033. Haha. And I still can't stay with him. I try to no lift shift but it's so hard to break old habits, clutch in, lift throttle. I catch myself sometimes
