With the 4l80e what gear are you runnig

If super charged & running a 4l80e trans with 600+HP what rear gear are you running ? I am still running the stock 3.27 and thinking of going lower maybe 3.45 or 3.70.

3.90s, and it still needs more gear off the line. 4.11 would be perfect at my hp level (625).

Why do you think you need more gear? rpms to low on the big end? Are you in 3 or 4 gear crossing the line? What kinda times are you running?

Then again for the boosted guys, with less first gear, you could just leave on more boost. If I had a boosted combo and was running a two step, I'd set it higher and try to leave on a few more lbs of boost.

I don't know about him am crossing in 3rd only one trip with the 4l80 will go next week and see what RPM am crossing if below 5,000 will try 3.70 gears. Wonted some feed back on set up like mine. There a lot of thread on gear but with different set ups, and trans.

I need more gear, because the tires hold all the power my engine makes, and it only cuts high 1.4 60 foots Like John said, with more power you can run less gear and be ok. I make 620-630, cross around 6500 rpms in third gear

Mr. Nasty post a whole slip, combo, rwhp.

3.70 would still be a nice street gear with 28.5 tall tires it's still not a lot of gear.

I would definitely at least go to a 3.70 and maybe even a 3.91. These cars are super heavy and like some gear. Like John said, a two step is very good as well

I would like some 1.4 60s!! With 20s and nto5r I have had a best of 1.6. With no traction issues off of foot brake. I now have a set of 17s mh drag radials, buy not its a 26 inch tall tire. Another way to get more gear.
