Commits weekly crime
|
September 23rd-25th road trip, anyone's welcome to join me.
Basically what I did last year was drive down on a Friday after work to Medford Oregon from Seattle down I5 - boring driving at night, but it put me in place to do a beautiful 2 day trip from there to Redding, then over to Eureka, then north on 101 back to Washington. I did this last year and it was one of the more fun drives I've done in the Pacific Northwest. The thing is, it's a multi day trip with a LOT of driving.
Edit since I've put up a date - This year, I'll leave after work on the 23rd to drive to Redding in the evening. Should get there by midnight from Seattle. I'll get up early and head down to Redding and hopefully be there by 11-noon. The highlight of this trip is from Redding to Yachats, OR. This is where I'm hoping people from nearby (Oregon and California) might want to join for a very fun drive. The road from Redding to Eureka was amazing. Would there be any interest in anyone joining me for all or part of this drive? When I did this solo last year, I stayed in a town in Oregon called Yachats which was beautiful as well. It'd be fun to run with some other 5th Gens, especially on the road from Redding to Eureka. If people wanted to join in Redding, I was planning on going to the In-n-Out Burger there. We don't have those in Seattle...so, this is a great excuse to visit a great burger place. Here's a map of the Redding-Eureka part. Couldn't quite fit it in at this zoom level, but this shows the fun part of the drive. Here's the route I would be taking...I suppose the main thing I want to try to do (including posting in the California section) is see who might be interested in the Redding-Yachats part of the trip on a Saturday. That way people could go their own way after that if they wanted.

That's a great route for a road trip, and very ambitious to do in 3 days. We can't go, but I hope for nothing but the best weather for your weekend adventure.
