NT05R "not advisable"
2011 full bolt on l99... I bought a set of 20x9 and 20x10.5 wheels and w my traction issues I thought I'd put 275 40 20 nt05 in front and 315 35 20 NT05R out back. I place my order online and receive a call back stating that the rear NT05R doesn't meet the cars engineering specs on load index. Does this mean no one should be running NT05R on a fifth Gen bc the cars too heavy? Or is it this particular size? Thoughts? Experiences???

That's what I thought! In 315/35/20 tho? Was it sketchy at high speeds?

According to tire rack, the stock tires have a load rating of 2094 lbs (106).
According to Nitto, the 313/35/20 NT05R has a load rating of 1609 lbs. It is light by 23%. |

I have 315/35/20 NT05's on the rear of mine. The only issue is extremely poor tread life. 6000 miles and they are down
to 2/32nd tread depth but they looked really cool. Trying to find 315/35/20 Pzeros to replace them. |

I had a brand new set of NT555Rs on my car and I had to put my car in the shop to replace a tailing arm bushing. The shop manager came over to me and told me I needed new tires because my tread was down to x/xx. I laughed and told him the tires were brand new. Then a mechanic came over and explained to the manager that they were drag radials and they come with very little tread. |

Keep in mind that those max load ratings are based on your Camaro being full of full-sized adult passengers, full fuel tank, full trunk full of luggage, etc... basically the max payload/weight rating. With these tires, you now have a good excuse to tell your buddies to drive their own cars, instead of bumming rides
