Wife Vs. Car

Does anyone else get the line"It's just a car?" AHHH!!! My wife threw that at me when I told her not to drag her feet when getting in. I then took her to the door of her 2014 LTZ Tahoe and showed her where her rings and nails scratch the door when she opens the door. I then asked if she'd be upset if I sat a nice cold soda on her Baby Grand and she said "that's different"... I know that all women aren't like this, but is anyone else dealing with this?

Yep, my wife thought it was selfish for me to get a manual and not an automatic so she could drive the car. Oh Well! She also didn't understand all of the boxes of stuff that I bought for the car before it ever arrived, thanks forum!

ALL THE F'N TIME!!!! Yes it is just a car in the grand scheme of things, but it is also MINE! It is always different when it is something they care about, my wife can drive a manual, and she does get to drive our Camaro probably more then me. I don't think it is asking to much to have her take care of it, and drive our truck if it is nasty out instead of the Camaro. Someday I hope she gets it, probably not, but I can dream.

I'm in the same boat. In her defense, I can be pretty anal about it.

Sometimes, she is really cool about it and actually cares about what I care about. Other times, it is pretty clear I have to watch her like a hawk.

Sometimes she gives me crap, other times she's good.

Come to think of it, maybe we both need medication?

I just explain why I do things.

Why do you always back in?
Because its hard to see the front end.

Why do you park so far away?
Because you said you wanted to lose weight.

Still sleeping in the garage!!!

I just got my Camaro last week, but for as long as my GF has been with me (5 years) shes always known that I'm a car guy. She slowly submitted to the fact that she may come first... but my car is my baby.
Initially she didn't understand, now she worries as much as I do and actually gets upset if something happens.

I've got that a few times with both my cars, but I have 120k sitting in my garage so ITS NOT JUST A CAR to me with that kind of investment:

I think I'll leave that line alone hahaha... Too funny though... The only thing that'll go 0-200 in 1 second... The bathroom scale.

I told my wife I just want to take care of the car and have it be mine... the kids are grown and the wife has her car... She can "girl" it all she wants, but at least respect how I want to treat my car. For Christmas she got me an 18V cordless Vac, I think she thought it was funny, but I loved it... My Dad passed in May and left me his 1968 Buick GS400 that he bought new and it's in phenominal shape! I guarantee if a typical woman would have owned it, it would be a pile of scrap. He still had the original window sticker for it... prices have come up just a little since then :-)
