Footwell lighting

Finally looking at getting footwell lighting. I've seen a few, but the pictures seem off on how bright they really are. Also, the ones I've seen are all have switch for on/off I have to hit every time I want to see them.

I need something easy to install. Drilling holes all over the place is not preferred. I am not a super car gadget installer.

I would like it to turn on/off with the lights like the door panels.

I want it to be subtle enough that I can drive at night with them on and not interfere.

I don't want to break the bank.

It would be helpful if I can see the installation instructions before purchase.

I would not be offended if someone offered a reasonably priced local installer recommendation.

I have footwell lights from Phastek Performance, $45 I think and they also came with dome light bulbs. Instructions weren't clear so I had to pay to get them installed, but I can send you pictures of how it looks and how it's wired. Mine are used with the switch without any holes drilled, but I know you can wire them other ways

I put red LED strips from Autozone in my foot wells. Pulled up the wiring diagram and tapped into the dome light so they replicate everything the dome light does. As the DL fades they fade. I’ll post pics tonight when it is dark and Monday pull up the schematics on which wire is the dL to tap into.

THIS is a great kit. Well put together, and insanely affordable at 45 bucks

4 strips of LEDs, fuse taps, all the wiring you'll need, RGB so you can select whatever color you want.

install is one of the most painless I've ever dealt with. Fuse tap to the Acc fuse in the interior fuse panel, ground to the bolt there, as well. Then just fish wires around and plug in the LEDs. All operate on one remote w one controller box.

Ran the wires for the rear seat out the fuse panel, down the drivers side trim, and up under the seat. Did the front/rear installs at separate times, just bc I didn't know if I'd like the look. All in, maybe 2 or 3 hours max, and that was taking my time, trying different things out and seeing what I preferred.

We have a 2010-15 Camaro led footwell kit, comes on automatically when door open and shuts off when door closes. Wiring and lights are out of site after install, no drilling or cutting for install. This kit is specially made for 2010-15 Camaros and includes wiring instructions with everything already cut to the proper length.

Hazy - Looks interesting, I'll leave that one on the list.

What I really want is one that just comes on with the head/parking lights, just like the blue trim in the doors at night.

Just tap into the gray wire above the gas pedal. Footwells come on when doors are opened.
I didn't believe GM didn't make this standard especially on the 2SS/RS models. It's one of
the first mods I did 10 years ago.
