ZL1 Exhaust What do you think?

IMO the stock exhaust with the famous fuse pull sounds okay, but to me sounds like a truck when its at wot. Im mixed on what i want to do for a cat back system. Im not installing headers, so thats out. im leaning towards the stainless works retro kit but heard they have some fitment issues? Dont know if thats true or not? Give me your opinion & if anyone has a sound clip of a zl1 with this system please post.
TIA

From what I have read on here repeatedly is if you want "sound" from your stock exhaust or even aftermarket, you will need headers. I plan on adding them to my car next year for sure. I have owned several "trucks" with stock and also aftermarket exhaust and to my ears the ZL1 does not sound like a truck. How many of you have heard a ZL1 WOT OUTSIDE and not inside while driving with the windows down?

I haven't, but my wife says it sounds really good when I take off down the road and she knows everything.

I hated the truck sound but I fixed it by installing a magnaflow x-pipe. now my car sounds like a high revving European exotic. nice and smooth and quieter to boot.

Yes please post a video/sound clip if anyone has a catback retro SW setup. I've heard the SW headers and retro cat back video off their website and it sounds awesome. I have not heard one with just a SW cat back retro chambered exhaust on a ZL1. However I did hear in person the SW retro cat back on a 2011 SS with american racing headers. And to me that didnt sound good and actually sounded like a truck. Didnt have that muscle car sound.

I have a mild to wild switched open with a Roto Fab CAI and a VMAX Throttlebody and those 3 mods made my car sound really throaty with a real nice supercharger whine.

I like how my car sounds with the stock exhaust. I have CAI system and planning to add VMAX. To my ears it has the sound of a vintage muscle car. Not sure what it sounds like on the outside. I had a Shelby GT500 and think the sound of my ZL1 is far better..

For a stock exhaust it is a good as it gets. Stock exhausts will never be as loud as some would like.
